چکیده
This paper investigates the accelerated distributed model predictive control (MPC) strategy for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems with local global power input constraints. The problems are firstly formulated in MPC framework then constrained optimization is converted into a quadratic programming problem. In problem formulation, thermal couplings between immediate neighboring zones considered while designing controller, unknown disturbances incorporated by robust scheme. Then, using dual gradient-projection method, fast protocol designed HVAC considering both electricity cost occupant comforts. A stopping criterion based on average consensus algorithm utilized. Finally, numerical simulations used to demonstrate effectiveness of proposed algorithm, its computational advantages comparing an existing method centralized algorithm.

Model based predictive control of HVAC systems
The problem of controlling a heating ventilating and air conditioning system in a single zone of a building is addressed. Its formulation is done in order to maintain acceptable thermal comfort for the occupants and to spend the least possible energy to achieve that. In most operating conditions these are conflicting goals, which require some sort of optimisation method to find appropriate solu...
متن کاملDistributed Model Predictive Control for building HVAC systems: A Case Study
Model predictive control (MPC) in building HVAC systems incorporates predictions of weather and occupancy to determine the optimal operating setpoints. However, application of MPC strategies to large buildings might not be feasible in real time due to the large number of degrees of freedom in the underlying optimization problem. Decomposing the problem into several smaller sub-problems to be so...

An accelerated optimization algorithm for distributed model predictive control ⋆
We regard a network of systems with coupled dynamics or constraints that we want to control optimally. The cost function is assumed to be separable and convex. We show that the corresponding centralized model predictive control (MPC) problem can be recast as a separable convex optimization problem. Furthermore, we present a dual-based decomposition method, called here the proximal center method...
متن کاملA Distributed Approach to Efficient Model Predictive Control of Building HVAC Systems
Model based predictive control (MPC) is increasingly being seen as an attractive approach in controlling building HVAC systems. One advantage of the MPC approach is the ability to integrate weather forecast, occupancy information and utility price variations in determining the optimal HVAC operation. However, application to largescale building HVAC systems is limited by the large number of cont...
